The proprietary, patent-pending STF Sheetless ThermoForming™ process eliminates the need for pre-formed thermoplastic sheets in a thermoforming application. Instead of extruding, forming, cooling, storing, transporting, and finally reheating each sheet again for forming, the STF Sheetless ThermoForming™ process delivers a dynamically controlled layer of material directly to the mold as it is extruded.

STF Sheetless ThermoForming™ is a fast and cost-effective way to mold large thermoformed products with a one-step operation directly from the extruder. Working with a molten sheet rather than a pre-formed one allows greater uniformity in terms of thickness and part consistency.

Once delivered to the mold, the material layer is automatically cut, sealed, and vacuum formed to the surface. The mold and material are then transported by the automated trolley system to the cooling area, where the formed part can be ejected and retrieved by robotics for trimming, finishing, and final inspection.

As with other LRM technologies, the STF Sheetless ThermoForming™ process produces no harmful compounds during production, repair, or recycling. Finished goods are 100% recyclable, and all trimmed material is immediately reprocessed into the system.
